Freeport Teen Charged with Two Counts of DUI Manslaughter

FREEPORT, Fla. (AP) - A Freeport teen is charged in a car accident that killed two people.

The Florida Highway Patrol says 16-year-old Tyler Wert's car crossed the median and went against traffic in May in Bay County.

His car then collided head-on with another vehicle. The two passengers in that car -- Ray Tipton and Emmalene Young -- were
killed instantly.

Wert turned himself into authorities yesterday.

FHP says lab results found that Wert was under the influence of a chemical substance at the time of the crash. He's charged with two counts of DUI manslaughter .
