Enterprise Cable Negotiations

There will be no public access to ongoing negotiations between the city of Enterprise and Adelphia Cable, at least that's the word now.

Officials on both sides of the rate increase issue say they're getting close to a solution. Enterprise City Attorney Rainer Cotter told the council that both sides believe it's better to meet behind “closed doors.”

Over the last six-months, Mayor Kenneth Boswell has repeatedly "blasted" Adelphia for inflating its monthly fees.

In recent days, Adelphia Vice President Chris Melcher of West Palm Beach, Florida has handled negotiations for his company. Enterprise has been unsuccessful in luring another cable company.

Melcher says he hopes that his company and the city can improve relations.
