A former Walton County public school teacher has pled no contest to felony battery.
Last November, James Hylton was initially charged with giving alcohol to a minor and lewd and lascivious molestation.
That’s after the then Freeport Middle School teacher allegedly inappropriately touched a 14-year-old girl.
Hylton was sentenced to five years probation. In addition, he will pay $2,000 in court costs and have no unsupervised contact with minors.
Hylton’s annual contract with Walton County was not renewed.
