One reduced the number of candidates for the August 24 mayor’s race in Ozark. Tuesday afternoon, Democratic candidate Ronnie Helms dropped out.
Instead, Helms will run for the District 3 City Commission Seat against Jerome Dudley.
Helms says he will throw his support behind Dale Lowery. He said he and Lowery have the same philosophies and didn't want to split the vote.
A record 24 candidates will be seeking office in the upcoming election.
