Circle Pharmacy off the circle was the target of some drug thieves late Sunday night, early Monday morning.
The store has been in operation for nearly 40 years and has seen some attempted burglaries in the past. The location is off the circle directly across from Video Warehouse that saw its own possible attempted robbery recently.
Those who entered the store broke a glass door that is now boarded over to gain entry and access to some medications. A crime like this is something pharmacists are used to.
Lendon Scott, a pharmacist, said, “Yes, that's the first time we've been broken into in about 10 years. They were strictly looking for drugs. They didn't bother any money or anything like that. The alarm went off and scared them off. They didn't get a lot, but they did get a few drugs.”
And like Mr. Scott said, they believe that drugs were the only motivation for this break-in.
Police are currently investigating the matter hoping that surveillance video will turn something up. Investigators looking at the video believe there was at least one white male going after pain killers.
