A motel room raid resulted in drug charges against a Samson resident. Authorities credit the quick action of employees with breaking-up a drug lab.
Myra Thames was arrested at the Briarwood Motel in Geneva. The 43-year-old faces several charges involving the manufacture and distribution of crack cocaine, and possession of marijuana.
Authorities say she and an unidentified man had rented a room for several days, and they requested that housekeeping stay out, but after the couple had left the room, a motel employee went inside. Geneva police and the Geneva County drug task force executed a search warrant. Authorities say they expect additional arrests in the case.
Sheriff's deputies arrived at a Washington County, Florida, home just as a man reportedly was breaking down his methamphetamine lab.
Thirty-four-year old Stephen Higbee was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of chemicals used to make methamphetamine.
The meth lab was located at Chrystal Village, just north of the Bay and Washington County lines. Deputies seized more than 8,000 grams of meth and 13 marijuana plants. Other arrests are expected.
