It's been more than 70 years since the town of Napier Field got water mains and the mayor says they're old and outdated.
Town leaders are bidding out a project to replace their water mains which don't have valves.
They are also adding six miles of pipe for the growing area that feeds water into the Grimes and McKay Community.
“It's a burden on the citizens; it's a burden on the town employees. We're actually keep having to dig up on our new streets we paved a couple of years ago,” said Mayor Greg Ballard.
Both projects will take a total of six months.
They're being funded by a community enhancement grant and the US Department of Agriculture.
