AUSTELL, Ga. (AP) - A 21-year-old U.S. Marine on his way home to
Alabama after a tour of duty in Iraq was killed in a head-on
collision near Six Flags.

Police say Lance Cpl. Gregory M. Suedmeyer died at an Atlanta
hospital two hours after an SUV driving the wrong way on Interstate
20 hit his car Saturday afternoon.

His wife, 19-year-old Katelyn Suedmeyer, is in critical but stable condition.

Cobb County police are expected to file charges against the driver, 71-year-old Bruce Joseph Quayle of Villa Rica.

Authorities say Quayle had traveled from Douglas County into Cobb County before the wreck and had prompted numerous 911 calls from other drivers.

Quayle is in stable condition.

Authorities say the Suedmeyers were headed home to Huntsville,
Ala., from Camp Lejeune, N.C., where Suedmeyer was stationed.
