Confederate Flag

Controversy over flying the Confederate Flag in Northwest Florida began in Crestview about two months ago. Tuesday, the battle moved to DeFuniak Springs.

The flag has flown in front of the Walton County Courthouse for nearly 130 years. Representatives from the NAACP asked county commissioners to remove the flag. Those opposed to that idea were also at the meeting.

No immediate decision is expected. Walton County Commissioners will discuss the matter at a future meeting.
