Enterprise Child Abuse Sentencing

A fight broke out following the sentencing of a one-time daycare owner.

Circuit Judge Thomas Head sentenced Julie Watkins to 15-years in state prison on a first-degree assault conviction.

Within seconds, several Watkins family members became enraged.

Deputies pinned one person to the floor after they made threats to the judge and others.

The case stems back to August, 2005 when she shook five-month-old Jake Garrett to the point where the child was taken to Children's Hospital in Birmingham for intensive medical treatment.

Jake Garrett is reportedly doing well, however it's not known if he'll suffer any long term effects from the incident.

At this time, it's not known if any charges will be filed following yesterday's melee in the courtroom.
