Civic Center Renovations

It's more than 30 years old and has undergone the daily wear and tear that any all-purpose building would endure.

Tuesday, city leaders approved for the exterior doors to be replaced which will require automatic key cards.

They'll also be repainting anything that requires paint on the Civic Center's exterior.

City of Dothan General Services Director Larry Muench said, “It is an elastomer-type paint, a commercial-grade paint and we feel very, very strongly that when that paint goes on this building it will last for a long, long time.”

Both jobs have been contracted out for a total of nearly $180,000.

The exterior painting should take 3-months to complete and more improvements are anticipated for the Civic Center.

Have we spent the one cent sales tax increase yet? If not we better find many more projects to spend it on because if we don't spend the tax money,,Some (most all) of the Citizens will want to repeal the Tax Increase that we were so determine to get even over the objections of the Citizens. After all we know what is best for our community. Don't We? So Spend!,Spend! & Spend some more! until it will be impossible to repeal the Sales Tax Increase
