New EMA Director Named

The Dale County Comission met Monday night to vote on approving a new EMA director to replace Ray Phillips who retired in June.

Assistant EMA Director Robert Marsh was named as the new director.

He was chosen by Phillips as a possible successor to the position back in March.

Marsh is a former Carroll High School student who served in the Army Corps of Engineers at Fort Rucker.

Marsh was also a volunteer with the Dale County EMA for three years and credits other volunteers as a valuable resource.

Marsh has been the acting director since Phillips left in June.
