Teamed Up to Tackle High Traffic Areas

The City of Dothan and Houston County have both teamed up to tackle high traffic areas off of Montgomery Highway.

Currently, the city is going to pave Plum Road which runs between Montgomery Highway and Flynn Road.

The paving will include some turn lanes onto Flynn Road which will extend into the 3 lane section of Murphy Mill behind the Northside Walmart.

The move will serve as a better connection for residents of bordering Houston and Dale counties.

We do have a high traffic count on Montgomery Highway and of course, Murphy Mill is increasing traffic by the day as things get developed in the Pavilion… it will provide a relief to certain other intersections,” said Jerry Corbin of City of Dothan Public Works Dept.

Those intersections Corbin speaks of include Napier Field Road all the way back to Westgate Parkway.
