PANAMA CITY, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say the Panama City Police Department was cleared of allegations of misusing funds.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement launched an investigation after an employee at the police department filed a complaint in June.
The allegations were that money donated to the Explorer program, which teaches young people about law enforcement work, was being used for parties and other expenses.
Kristen Perezluha, an FDLE spokeswoman says no criminal actions were found and the case is closed.
Police Chief John Van Etten said he welcomed the outcome.
