Interstate 10 Connector Project

Dothan's proposed Interstate-10 connector project could be in line for more federal funding.

A senate transportation sub-committee has approved 4-and-a-quarter million dollars for the project.

It would link Dothan and the Wiregrass area to Tnterstate-10 in the Florida Panhandle.

Supporters of the connector say the 4-lane super-highway would boost the southeast Alabama economy.

Florida officials say the spur could become a vital evacuation route if hurricanes threaten the Panhandle.

The funding bill goes to the senate appropriations committee for further consideration.

    I too would like to see where it is being discussed to build the connector.

    I'd like to see a finalised route plan for the I-10 connector. The exact location of the new road could effect my property!
