The Town of New Brockton is one step closer to running their own garbage collection system.

Their truck is in and the mayor says it represents their ability to keep the town clean and rebuild the community.

He says they expect to pay off the truck in five years and make at least a half a million for the town in the next 10 years.

“We’re going to make sure we have good, safe, clean, reliable service for the people that live here in New Brockton. We're going to have 522 customers at $16 a month with no increase in the existing fees,” says Mayor Lenwood Herron.

You can expect the truck to hit the streets for collection in about two weeks.
