Two speakers from Mothers Opposing Meth teamed up with the Alfred Saliba Family Services Center in a workshop to fight the reality of crystal meth.
Speakers Beth Williams and Cassie Waddell both have dealt with children who use and shared their experiences with the audience.
"We really have to get out there in the community and help our young people especially, because they are mostly affected even if they aren't using. If they are in a household where their parents are using or manufacturing it affects them as well," says Laura Riffin, organizer of the event and Office Manager with Alfred Saliba Family Services Center.
State legislation passed to decrease the availability of meth ingredients, has slowed use in our area down a bit, but authorities say it continues to be a problem.
