Acid Attack Leaves Victim Blind

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - A 27-year-old man is jailed on a first-degree assault charge after Tuscaloosa authorities said he threw acid in another man's face, leaving him blinded.

The incident happened Thursday outside a residence on 34th Avenue.

The commander of the County's Homicide Unit, Captain Loyd Baker, said Jefferson Lowe is being held on 20-thousand dollars bond.

Police are unsure if the 35-year-old male, whose name was withheld, suffered permanent blindness.
