Extreme Suits

That's thanks to a new state of the art flight suit worn by helicopter aircrews called the Air Warrior system.

It's equipped with body armor, a mask, and a water cooler to keep the body cool in extreme temperatures.

The mask and helmet are suited to combat nuclear, biological, and chemical substances.

Brigidaire General William Jacobs and another pilot tested the suit in a barrier chamber that was 105 degrees and had 90-percent humidity for more than five hours.

The research lab also monitored General Jacobs’ physiological signs like heart rate and blood pressure during the simulated flight.

All soldiers will eventually have varying sets that suit their combat conditions.

The current air warrior system is being used in combat right now, but not a five hour durability.
