Eufaula Woman Apparently Drowns in State Park Lake

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - A 31-year-old Eufaula woman apparently drowned Saturday night while swimming with her sister in a lake at
Chewacla State Park in Auburn.

Lee County coroner Bill Harris said Kasheena Tyson died at 8:52 p.m. at a hospital emergency room.

She had attempted to swim from the bank to a platform out in the lake about 7:55 p.m. when she had difficulty. Her sister attempted to help.

Rescue crews from the Auburn Fire Department and East Alabama Medical Center responded to a 911 call.

Tyson's body was recovered from waters about seven feet deep.

An autopsy is planned.
