Pandemic Preparedness Training

Area law enforcement, health care professionals and educators will be given the chance to learn what to do in the event of a disease epidemic.

In Marianna, an Ocala Emergency Response Consultant held a workshop on a planned exercise for later this summer.

On July 25th, more than a dozen state and local agencies will be involved in a drill at the Jackson County Emergency Management Agency.

They will take part in pandemic training.

The consultant will grade the emergency responders on how they handle a bird flu outbreak in which 30-to-40 percent of the population becomes gravely ill.
