Three-and-a-half-years-ago, Bonifay officer Steven Lee was nearly killed in the line of duty after being shot 12-times by a deranged gunman. Tuesday, Officer Lee is trying to get his old job back.
Last December, he was suspended without pay for allegedly making a traffic stop outside the department's jurisdiction.
But following a state investigation which concluded no criminal intent by Lee; his attorney has asked the Bonifay City Council to put him back on the police force.
One council member wants more input before he decides whether or not Lee should be re-instated.
Next month, the Bonifay City Council will hold a special hearing on whether Steven Lee should be re-instated to his old position with the police department.
