Dozens of Electronic Shipped to Africa from Panhandle

More than three-dozen used computers from the panhandle are being shipped to central Africa.

The Chipola Workforce Development board just completed its first give-a-way of old computer equipment.

The Marianna-based organization has donated $7,000 dollars worth of older computers, monitors and printers to non-profit organizations over the last two-days.

An area church is sending much of the equipment to Christian groups near Mozambique.

The project was such a success that a second give-a-way of computer-based gear will be held in the near future.
