Nine Arrested in Drug & Weapons Sweep in Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Nine people are behind bars Tuesday each charged with federal drug and or weapons violations.

Tuscaloosa Police Chief Ken Swindle said the nine were recently indicted by a federal grand jury.

Arrested and charged were: Cedric Bernard Myles; Derrick Levert Hall; Amos Harris; Sherman White; Douglas Johnson; Tyrone Billups; Kennedy Taylor; Ronnie Gee; and Eugene Dunn. Swindle said a search
continues for two others - Santony Noland and Reginald Dixon.

The arrests were made early today by members of the ATF Task Force, the U.S Marshals Service and Tuscaloosa Police.

U.S Attorney Alice Martin said the charges are the result of a three-year investigation under the Justice Department's Safe Neighborhood
