OPELIKA, Ala. (AP) - A 28-year-old Opelika man has been arrested and charged with murder in a shooting that left one man dead at an apartment complex.
Lee County coroner Bill Harris said the victim, 44-year-old Randall Brent Kardoes of Auburn died at the shooting scene in Opelika at 1:30 a.m. Friday.
Police were called to the Tall Oaks Apartments about 11:18 p.m. Thursday. The suspect, Kiley Christian Jackson, was arrested a short time later, according to Opelika police Captain Allan Elkins.
A motive for the shooting was not immediately clear.
Kardoes was reportedly shot in the head in Jackson's apartment. Neighbors said Kardoes' wife was living at the apartment and the couple were getting a divorce.
