An early morning fire at the Houston County Courthouse Annex forced officials to close while crews clean up.
The blaze forced court officials to delay Monday's start of a murder trial until Tuesday.
Investigators believe a burglar broke into the annex shortly before 3 a.m. Monday and used an accelerant to set at least three small fires.
Houston County Commission Chairman Mark Culver said the burglar did vandalize an X-ray machine used by security personnel. Investigators said an accelerant was poured into the device.
Police have not made an arrest.
