Dothan 4th of July Celebration

The Kiwanis Club of Dothan will hold its first annual Red, White, and Boom 4th of July celebration.

The celebration is expected to be Dothan’s largest one-day event and will be held at the national peanut festival fairgrounds.

There will be lots of music, entertainment, games, car and bike shows and food.

Kiwanis Event Chairman Robin Rainer says, “People have been asking the question for years and years, why doesn't Dothan have a fireworks show on the 4th of July…and we decided to turn it into a community event.”

Red, White, and Boom will be held this 4th of July at the Peanut Festival Fairgrounds and tickets are 5 dollars in advance and 8-dollars at the gate.

They may be purchased at the fairgrounds.

I think it is crazy to charge for the Fireworks. Can't there be an event where there isn't any charge to participate? Fort Rucker does not charge for their event! And if you have to charge, why not just charge $1 or $2? Not $5 or $8!

It's about time Dothan had fireworks. I hope the City is paying for this, with their 1 cent sales tax! I would finally see the benefit, if the money were used for building community through fellowship and services such as this one!
