Auto Theft Arrest

arrest

Police investigating the theft of a stolen auto ended up arresting the owner.

Authorities said the man’s car had been taken in retaliation for the theft of narcotics from a drug dealer.

The car is owned by firefighter Richard Reale of Springfield in the Panama City area. He told police he stole the drugs to keep them out of a certain place and to get rid of them.

Springfield police charged Reale with felony delivery of a controlled substance to another firefighter, Ron Capps. Capps is charged with possession of six Ecstasy pills.

Reale said the two men don't take drugs and aren't drug dealers, but were just trying to clean up a situation.

Police also arrested three suspects accused of stealing Reale's car.
