Houston County and the City of Dothan join forces to help improve downtown Dothan.
In Monday’s county commission meeting leaders voted to allocate money to go towards the old train station in Dixie.
The Wiregrass Transit Authority has plans to relocate their offices to the station.
Dothan city leaders re-wrote their current contract with the project so the county's money can be added with theirs.
Mayor Pat Thomas said, “The city and the County are extremely close. I think we're working together better than we ever have. We're going to have our occasional hiccup and we do that and we move on.”
Houston County’s funds will go towards a bus canopy.
