Attempted murder charges are expected for the two Dale County Jail inmates who beat and seriously injured two guards Friday night.
That's according to Dale County Sheriff Wally Olsen.
The riot started when Katoni Tillis and Kent Stewart over-powered a guard in an attempt to escape.
Two other guards responded but were injured by the inmates, one carrying a home made sharp weapon, or shank another using a part of a metal bed.
The guards were able to restrain Tillis and Stewart.
One guard is in the intensive care unit after suffering internal injuries and serous trauma to the head during the struggle.
Another guard was sent to the hospital and released with minor injuries.
The first guard was not injured only assaulted.
This isn't the first time an incident like this has happened at the jail. However, Sheriff Olson does say protocol was followed and no inmates were able to escape during the riot.
We will have an in-depth update on this story for you tonight on News 4.
