Some Dale County school students may be moved to another school system.
Since Barbour County merged its schools to enhance integration among students, the system began losing students that lived closer to the Dale County line.
Dale County schools, Ariton and Skipperville, have about 150 Barbour County students.
After a review over the past two years, Barbour and Dale County school systems along with the Alabama Justice Department came up with a way to get those students back into their county system.
Dale County Schools Superintendent Phillip Parker said, “Students and parents need to know year to year that they don't need to be in limbo about where their students will be able to graduate. This has been very stressful on parents of Barbour County students…”
Dale County school officials will lay out their plan send the Barbour County students back to that school system Tuesday night.
The plans will be available at Ariton's school cafeteria at six and G.W Long's cafeteria at 7:30.
