Authorities have arrested an ex-marine after the slayings of his parents and baby niece, all apparently shot to death as they slept.
Norell Swain is being held in connection with the shooting deaths of 62-year-old Bobby Joe Swain, 52-year-old Mattie Swain and their nine-month old granddaughter.
The infant was staying with her grandparents while her mother was stationed away in the Air Force.
The Talladega County Deputy Coroner said sheriff's investigators told him the man had been charged with capital murder, though sheriff's deputies and jail workers refused to discuss the case publicly.
The slayings are Talladega County's second triple murder in four months.
