The Dothan Police department will kick off the nationwide Special Olympics and Krispy Kreme doughnuts fundraising program, "Cops on Doughnut Shops," beginning at 6 am on Friday, May 4 and ending at 6 pm Sunday, May 6.
Police officers will sit on the roof of Krispy Kreme doughnuts in hopes of raising money for the law enforcement torch run, as well as awareness for Special Olympics.
Police officers will collect donations from customers and the general public as they eat, sleep, and play on the rooftops of Krispy Kreme.
Customers who donate five dollars or more will receive free doughnut treats, and corporations or organizations donating one-thousand dollars or more will receive a free doughnut party for their employees.
