House of Ruth Grant

A home which has a huge impact on battered-victims road to recovery has recently received more funds to stay open.

The House of Ruth has received more than $240,000 in federal grants to provide shelter, counseling, and other services for abuse victims.

57,000 dollars of the money will go towards training police, medical professionals, and prosecutors.

House of Ruth Executive Director Beverly Youse says, “We mostly run off of grants and the money that matches them and these two grants are renewal grants. You have to re-apply every year"

The House of Ruth serves an eight county area.

Without the continuing grant money the agency could not operate.
