There were 7,500 sex-offenders registered in Alabama last year, but authorities say that is well below the actual number of men and women who are required to be registered.
Recently, two men were arrested in Covington County for failure to register.
Ronald Lee Biddle was on probation from Tampa, Florida for a conviction on a lewd and lascivious act on a child under 16.
Ashton Peters of Florala was arrested for failing to provide an address as a sexual offender with the sheriff's department.
Both men could receive sentences of one to ten years on the felony charges of non-compliance.
