Bonifay Rezoning

The president of a land use company says the I-10 and Highway 79 interchange has become prime real estate for future development.

Ron Thomasson spoke at the Bonifay city council meeting; he is in the process of getting a 160-acre track of land along the interchange re-zoned for commercial development.

The site is less than 25 miles from the future home of the Bay County International Airport which is expected to be built north of Panama City Beach.

The city accepted the re-zone petition, but it's up to the Florida Department of Community affairs to give the okay.
