The Wiregrass is experiencing a blood shortage and local blood banks need your help.
LifeSouth is more than 50-perecent below its average blood supply.
That amounts to 86 units a day.
The most critical need is for both "O" positive and "O" negative.
But because there is an emergency blood shortage, all types are needed.
“The recent tornado brought in lots of donors who gave blood but now they aren't eligible, you have to wait 56 days, and we're critical for blood right now,” said Katrina Medley of LifeSouth Blood Center.
LifeSouth Blood Center in Dothan is opening its office from 1 until 4 this Sunday to accommodate residents who work throughout the week.
The center is located on Ross Clark Circle next to Jim Skinner Honda.
