Kent Buescher is the new owner of the rechristened Cypress Gardens Adventure Park. He said at a news conference today that he hoped this balancing act between the new and the old would turn the 68-year-old park into "the most dynamic regional park in the country."
The park will have two distinct pathways that reflect its new and the old parts. The paths will emanate from a new entrance at the south end of the park.
The eastern pathway will have as its model the Wild Adventures park that Buescher owns in Valdosta, Georgia, and it will be the location for most of the 36 rides that are being added to Cypress Gardens. They include four roller coasters, seven thrill rides, 11 children's rides, 12 family rides and two water rides.
