Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity and the City of Dothan has joined forces to call for a need of affordable housing in the area.
This month has been declared affordable housing month.
In April, the Habitat for Humanity will raffle a playhouse and money raised will benefit the organization.
Also, as part of the spirit of service day, Wiregrass Habitat youth will build a home for a needy family on April 21.
Wiregrass Habitat Exec. Director Liz Tiller said, “On behalf of the Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity and our board of directors we just like to thank the city of Dothan and the commission for everything they’ve done for Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity.”
Last year alone habitat built 27 homes, a majority of those are now occupied by victims of Hurricane Katrina.
