An Oregon county official faces a recall attempt, after she voted to issue marriage license to gay couples.
Benton County Commission Chairwoman Linda Modrell's decision brought threatened legal action from the state attorney general. And now, instead of issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples, the county has stopped distributing marriage licenses to anyone.
A group called Citizens for Legal Accountability is demanding the recall. Leaders charge Modrell has violated her public trust.
Modrell counters that her oath of office justifies her actions, and that "hard decisions" are generally "controversial."
