MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The Federal Emergency Management Agency has approved 5.8 million dollars in assistance for Alabamians who suffered damage during the March 1st tornados.
More than 16-hundred households have registered for individual assistance through FEMA or the Small business Administration.
Also, more than 16-hundred people have sought help through one of the six disaster recovery centers through out the state.
Meanwhile, FEMA said its Disaster Recovery Center at the Enterprise Recreation Center will open Monday through Saturday from 8 am to 6 pm. Alabama residents affected by the March 1st storms are urged to register for assistance by calling (800) 621-FEMA (3326).
Disaster loans also are available from the Small Business Administration.
