More FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers to Close

DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) - Two Federal Emergency Management Agency
disaster recovery centers will close Wednesday because of reduced
activity.

The change leaves one DRC remaining as the Wiregrass continues to clean up almost three weeks after devastating tornadoes.

FEMA announced Monday that disaster recovery centers in Henry
and Dale counties will close at 6 pm.

A FEMA official said despite the closings, residents who have not registered can still register for assistance by calling 1-800-621-FEMA or by visiting www.fema.gov.

The one remaining center is located at the Enterprise Recreation Center where residents from any affected county may register.

The presidential disaster declaration makes federal and state funds available in Coffee, Dale, Henry, Wilcox, Dallas and Montgomery counties. Assistance to help pay for damage to the public infrastructure is also available for agencies in Coffee,
Wilcox and Henry counties.
