Dothan city commissioners voted Tuesday in favor of keeping a local VA Clinic in Dothan.
There's been some talk about possibly moving the clinic to Fort Rucker.
Many veterans have voice opposition to the move and Tuesday, the Dothan city commission adopted a resolution that supports keeping the clinic in Dothan.
Houston County commissioners adopted a similar measure last month.
The clinic is contracted to stay in Dothan until March of next year.
A public meeting will be held later this month to discuss shifting the clinic from contract to VA staffing.
That meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. on March 30th at the Dothan Opera House.
Currently, more than 5,900 veterans use the VA clinic in Dothan.
