In the last five days, more than 918 acres have been burned and destroyed in the Wiregrass.
There have been a total of 41 fires in the south east corner of the state - Russell, Barbour, Henry, Geneva, Coffee, Dale, Covington and Crenshaw counties.
In Houston County, four fires in the last three days have destroyed approximately 100 acres.
Officials say the fires are mostly due to dump sites and spring garden preparations, but some were set intentionally,
"The reason we're having so many right now is because the weather is so dry, extremely dry and humidity is low and it just doesn't take a lot for one to get away," says Tracy Lawrence\Alabama Forestry Commission, District 6.
At this time, there are no reports of any structure damage or injures.
But, the public is urged to be extremely cautious.
