Authorities Search for Murder Victim

Authorities in Bay County are searching an area of suburban Panama City after getting a tip a murder victim's body is buried there.

The vacant lot in Callaway is the site of a pond that was filled in back in 1995. Officials say they have information a body was dumped there back in 1988.

So far, there is no word on who the victim was or what the circumstances were, but Sheriff Frank McKeithen says a cadaver dog has reacted as if there has indeed been a body in the area.

The digging resumes Tuesday.
