ENTERPRISE, Ala. (AP) - Family, friends and classmates are remembering the victims of last week's deadly tornado that struck a
high school in Enterprise, Alabama.
The first of the funerals for eight students were held Monday. Sixteen-year-old Michelle Wilson was remembered as "beautiful young girl in perfect health." Minister Lance Hogan says Wilson's death and those of the other students "make no sense" and defy easy explanations.
Hogan quoted teachers who remembered Wilson as a kindergarten student waiting "patiently for her big brother" with a joyful smile. He said the teachers also described her as an eager and appreciative student.
Schools in Enterprise will be closed all week, but the superintendent says he's doing all he can to get high school students back in class quickly.
