MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The paperwork is signed and now awaits
Monday, Governor Bob Riley signed documents requesting federal assistance for Coffee, Wilcox and Henry counties.
The three counties were hard hit by damaged by tornadoes last Thursday - the deadly twisters left eleven dead, including 8 teenagers at Enterprise High School.
If approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the funding would help pay for debris removal, emergency protective services and damaged public buildings.
The amount of money sought by the state was not immediately known.
Over the weekend, President Bush designated Coffee County as a disaster area, releasing federal dollars for recovery and individual assistance.
