ENTERPRISE, Ala. (AP) - President Bush has arrived by helicopter in Enterprise for a tour of tornado destruction. Gov. Bob Riley and members of the state's congressional delegation stepped off the aircraft with the president this morning, who was met by the mayor of Enterprise and other officials.
Bush got a birds-eye view the tornado damage as his Marine One helicopter followed the deadly storm's path and flew over the battered Enterprise High School where eight students died Thursday.
Bush said Coffee County has been declared a federal disaster area, making storm victims eligible for federal aid. He also urged private donations for those who may not qualify for government assistance.
FEMA director R. David Paulison is also traveling with the president.
