People are rolling up their sleeves and giving the gift of life during this time of need.
At the Wiregrass chapter of the American Red Cross in Dothan, the office was packed with people waiting to give blood.
By noon Friday, close to 100 people had already signed up to donate.
Red Cross officials say the support from people has been tremendous during this crisis and they hope the generosity continues.
"The Red Cross is based on volunteers and the volunteer dollar, so anything the public can do would be greatly appreciated," said Shirley Sandy, director of Disaster Services.
Red Cross blood drives will be held at the Enterprise Wal-Mart Saturday and Sunday from 10AM to 6PM and every Thursday from 1 to 7PM in the evening at the Red Cross office in Dothan.
LifeSouth Community Blood Centers are also holding blood drives Saturday.
They'll be collecting from 10AM to 3PM at the center on Ross Clark Circle and at the Northside Wal-Mart in Dothan from 10AM to 4PM.
All blood types are needed.
