New Brockton officials are looking at its 45,000 dollar purchase of the town's old National Guard Armory.
The armory will eventually be made into the town's new city hall.
During a workshop session, several council members looked at how best to utilize the building.
Councilman Jeffrey White says the central Coffee County town is in desperate need of a community center and the armory may have the necessary space.
"In our current building we have water, sewer, and police departments. And we have city business going on there. This armory when ready will give us needed space," said White.
The city is expected to request state grant money to help modernize the old armory. No date has been set when it will officially become New Brockton city hall.
